A CABC member, PwC Indonesia, released the ASEAN-6 eReadiness 2025 Associations Report, a comprehensive study examining the rapid transition toward electric vehicles (EVs) across six key ASEAN markets: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore.
Despite a broader slowdown in the automotive sector, the report finds that the EV segment in ASEAN continues to expand at pace, driven by strong consumer interest, improving infrastructure, and supportive government policies. Among the ASEAN-6 markets, Indonesia stands out as a regional leader, with its EV market recording 49% growth and EVs accounting for 18% of total vehicle sales.
The report highlights several factors underpinning this momentum, including robust consumer demand, high satisfaction levels among EV owners, and one of the most competitive incentive frameworks in ASEAN. These conditions position Indonesia at the forefront of the region’s shift toward electrification and signal significant opportunities for manufacturers, investors, and policymakers involved in the EV value chain.
More broadly, the PwC ASEAN-6 eReadiness 2025 report provides valuable insights into:
The pace and scale of EV adoption across ASEAN markets
Consumer attitudes and readiness for electrified mobility
The role of policy incentives in accelerating the EV transition
Strategic opportunities for businesses across the EV ecosystem
