The latest issue of ASEAN Magazine (Issue No. 45) offers an in-depth look at ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, a landmark vision adopted by ASEAN Leaders on 26 May 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. This special edition highlights the region’s shared commitment to building a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred ASEAN Community, guided by four strategic plans that will shape the decades ahead.


The issue explores how ASEAN’s Political-Security, Economic, and Socio-Cultural Communities, along with ASEAN Connectivity, will navigate global megatrends and regional priorities, ensuring that the Community remains forward-looking and respo

nsive to the needs of its people.


Readers will gain exclusive insights from Eminent Persons of ASEAN Member States, Senior Officials, and the ASEAN Secretariat on the inclusive process of shaping ASEAN 2045. The magazine also features voices from people across the region, sharing their hopes for the future of ASEAN, alongside vibrant coverage of the 58th ASEAN Day Celebration.


Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, emphasizes that this is the first time ASEAN has adopted a 20-year vision, twice the timeframe of previous plans. “This reflects ASEAN’s ability to see beyond the immediate horizon and chart its long-term strategic direction,” he notes, underscoring the region’s ambition and resilience.
