Event Details

In order to sustain Malaysia’s impressive growth and sustainable development by achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the energy sector requires an influx of cleantech and clean energy capabilities and foreign investment - which the Canadian private sector and crown corporations are ideally positioned to deliver. To kick-off Canada’s delegation to the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference (IGEM), this event will convene leading senior business leaders and government officials in the energy and finance sectors to explore more Canadian engagement to advance Malaysia’s transition to net-zero. The event will also focus on empowering Malaysian female leaders in the energy sector, to ensure women’s voices, solutions, and capabilities are adequately represented in the decision-making process and activities of the energy transition.

Key Objectives/Outcomes

  • Set the foundation for the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference by providing a key platform to drive Canada-Malaysia collaboration in the transition to net-zero.
  • Facilitate an action-oriented dialogue featuring leading female corporates and policy makers on how to ensure better representation of women leaders in the energy sector, and how to channel more funding/support from Canada for clean projects owned by women;
  • Offer high-quality networking opportunities and business-to-business connections for visiting Canadian companies in the energy sector to expand their visibility and opportunities in the market.
  • Drive dialogue between Canadian and Malaysian decision makers on how to form tangible partnerships to advance common sustainability goals based on areas of expertise and capability, such as renewable/clean energy, cleantech, and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
