Synopsis

Momentum is growing in Canada’s plant-based protein industry to leverage the country’s unrivalled natural resources to meet global food demand. This effort is spearheaded by Protein Industries Canada (PIC), a national initiative to drive cutting edge innovation, develop new products and sell them to the world. Over the past three years, PIC and industry partners have invested more than SGD $500 million into Canada’s plant-based food sector.

Canada’s growing protein industry provides unprecedented opportunities for Asia-based investors, innovators, entrepreneurs and agri-food companies. The R&D and technology that is driving innovation in Canada’s protein industry is creating new possibilities for the production and consumption of protein sources curated for different markets around the world. In this Canadian Protein Showcase, you will hear from Protein Industries Canada, the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance and other Canadian agri-food partners on the opportunity to partner with Canada.

The session will also provide you with a first look at Plant Forward, the first Canada-led international conference on accelerating the growth of the plant-based food, feed and ingredients ecosystem. Taking place in Toronto in November 2022, the event will bring together Canadian and international trailblazing companies for a journey toward the future of food.
