Introduction
In support of Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship and Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, the Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) is proud to host its flagship Canada-ASEAN Business Forum 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
This flagship event serves as a premier platform to foster dialogue, collaboration, and partnerships between Canadian and ASEAN leaders in business and government. It aims to deepen connections across sectors critical to Canada-ASEAN trade and investment, including investments, energy transition, agriculture, digital economy, and infrastructure.
The Forum will focus on advancing Canada-ASEAN economic engagement and integration, particularly in support of Malaysia’s pivotal role as ASEAN Chair under the theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability”.
Objectives
Advance economic integration and trade connectivity between Canada and ASEAN: Support the ongoing trade negotiations for an ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA).
Promote dialogue and identify priority areas for collaboration: Provide a platform to discuss pressing issues and opportunities in Canada-ASEAN economic corridors.
Showcase opportunities and foster partnerships: Educate senior leaders of opportunities for deeper economic integration and highlight Canada’s value as a trusted partner.
Facilitate senior-level networking: Enable impactful interactions between top government and business decision-makers in Canada and ASEAN.
Strengthen CABC community: Deliver value and opportunities to CABC members through curated content and exclusive access to industry insights.
Why Malaysia in September 2025?
Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 positions it as a hub for regional cooperation and development. With its theme focused on sustainability, digitalization, and inclusivity, Malaysia’s leadership will steer ASEAN’s agenda towards shared prosperity.
Hosting the Forum in Kuala Lumpur aligns with key ASEAN and Canada-related events, including the ASEAN Economic Ministers-Canada Consultation.
