The Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) is the preeminent organization with a region (ASEAN)-wide mandate to promote and increase trade relations between Canada and ASEAN. At its core, the mission of CABC is simple; to provide our Members with concrete commercial opportunities to build and grow their companies.

The CABC is looking for a full-time Associate Director in Singapore.  The position provides an exciting opportunity in a young, pioneering organization representing Canadian commercial interests in ASEAN. 


  • Events
    • Liaise with CABC stakeholders to identify and execute on sector-specific and other events in Canada and across the ASEAN region.
    • Take a lead role in the execution of the 5th CABC Business Forum (2019).
  • Thought Leadership and Advocacy
    • Work with the Executive Director, the CABC Operating Committee, and CABC Partners to develop and execute sector-specific and advocacy reports.
    • Develop all other though-leadership materials as required.

  • Communications

    • Maintain site:
      • Create and post regular content; continually improve site towards a high-quality look and feel.
    • Manage the CABC’s social media accounts.
    • Draft and publish the CABC’s monthly E-newsletter and other Member/Partner communications.
  • The Associate Director will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director and the CABC Operating Committee with all other tasks as required, including database management and financial reporting.


  • Bachelor or Masters degree (preferred) in business, communications, international relations, public policy, or other related field;
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide array of stakeholders;
  • A high degree of independence and comfort working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong computer skills required; experience with website design is an asset;
  • A demonstrated interest in international trade/ economic development; Familiarity with the Canada-ASEAN economic relationship is an asset;
  • The right to live and work in Singapore preferred.
