
In our mission to promote and increase trade relations between Canada and ASEAN, CABC continues to drive change and progress on policy issues that matter to our Members.

ACCELERATE ASEAN-CANADA FREE TRADE AGREEMENT DISCUSSIONS
- Accelerate the launch of formal negotiations for an ASEAN-Canada FTA
- Conduct sector-specific research to support the development of a potential ASEAN Canada FTA
PROMOTE THE COMPREHENSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE AGREEMENT FOR TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP (CPTPP)
- Promote awareness among business community in Canada and ASEAN to drive utilization of the agreement and accelerate trade based on improved market access


Increasing Connectivity & Facilitating Business
APEC BUSINESS TRAVEL CARDS
- Increase frequency of ABTC enrolment opportunities in ASEAN to a minimum of once per quarter
- Build constructive relationships with relevant key government bodies and stakeholders
WORK PERMITS & VISAS
- Conduct research and publish recommendations to improve visa access for Canadians in ASEAN and ASEAN member citizens in Canada
- Encourage countries to provide short-term work visas to facilitate business activities
Supporting Education
ASEAN-CANADA BILATERAL EDUCATION EXCHANGES
- Promote Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program application opportunities in ASEAN
- Advocate for closer youth exchange and people-to-people ties through work permits for internships in ASEAN and explore possibility of work-holiday visas for Canadians to key ASEAN markets, including Singapore
