It is recognized as the premier event connecting senior Canadian private and public-sector leaders with their ASEAN counterparts.

On a regular basis, the CABC provides high-level networking and sector-specific events for its Members.

Strengthening Canada-Asia Connectivity in a Shifting World

On February 27, 2019, CABC attended the fourth annual meeting of the Asia Business Leaders Advisory Council 2019 (ABLAC 2019), hosted by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) in Hong Kong.

At the meeting, senior leaders from Canada and Asia discussed Canada’s role and opportunities in Asia given the region’s shifting economic and geopolitical landscape. The meeting provided a unique platform for business and government stakeholders to engage in candid dialogue on how Canada can realize the full potential of its business and economic engagement with Asia. The Council also discussed the strategic alignment of investments and innovations between Canada and Asia and provide strategic policy advice informing the development of an Asia Strategy for the Government of Canada.

UBC MPPGA Meet and Greet in Singapore

CABC invited members to join the University of British Columbia’s meet and greet session in Singapore to find out more about the Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs program program from our program representatives, Professor Kai Ostwald, Tommy Koh, and Clare Kim. The program provides policy makers and future leaders with multidisciplinary policy analysis and design skills and subject-specific expertise in development, sustainability and global governance.

[Partner Event] Asia Trade in the New Global Order

As a supporting organization, CABC and its members attended the by-invitation only “Asia Trade in the Global Order” organized by the Asia House on November 22, at the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore.

The event featured leading speakers from government, trade, investment, and technology who shared predictive analysis on the shifts taking place within the world economy. The sessions delved into the drivers of change in the global economy, from high-level policy shifts to the ongoing digital revolution.

Infrastructure in Indonesia

With the support of Export Development Canada (EDC), the Canada-ASEAN Business Council hosted the Infrastructure in Indonesia breakfast seminar at Fairmont Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 29, between 8am and 11am. The event was attended by about 60 attendees, including Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Peter MacArthur, representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Indonesia, EDC, the ASEAN Secretariat, Canadian businesses, and local key players in the infrastructure sector in Indonesia.
