Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne has announced that after translation and legal review of the text across 11 jurisdictions, the full text of the new Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has been published. Champagne said the full text of the bilateral side-letters are expected to follow as soon as possible. The CPTPP represents 495 million people with a combined gross domestic product of C$13.5 trillion – a full 13.5% of global GDP. Through the CPTPP, Canada will have preferential access to half a billion consumers in the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing market and will assist in Canada’s trade diversification objectives. Ministers of all 11 member countries will officially sign the CPTPP on March 8th in Santiago, Chile. Click here for the text of the agreement.
