Dear CABC Members, Partners, and Supporters,

The CABC is proud to announce our Sustainability Partnership with Manulife to foster closer Canada-ASEAN collaboration in sustainability. Manulife has been a CABC Parton Member since 2017, and has been instrumental to the growth and success of the CABC. Manulife has been active in their ongoing support for the CABC’s mission to grow the Canada-ASEAN economic corridor, and we are proud to elevate this partnership for a larger collective impact towards reducing climate change and a net zero future in Southeast Asia.

As a leading Canadian company, Manulife has demonstrated an admirable and robust commitment to operating sustainability across all of their markets. Manulife has been recognized for its commendable actions, including winning the prestigious “Friend of ASEAN Award” at the recent 2021 ASEAN Business Awards (ABA). Its initiatives such as the Manulife Sustainable Asia Bond Fund also set a high standard for other companies to follow suit.

The CABC and Manulife share a history of partnership based on a shared vision for a closer Canada-ASEAN partnership. Last year, we jointly released a position paper, “Strengthening ASEAN’s COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout and Economic Recovery”, to demonstrate the support of the Canadian private sector to ASEAN’s COVID recovery. It is through actions of companies such as Manulife, that Canada becomes more established as a key partner to ASEAN and its Member States (AMS) to work towards a sustainable and prosperous future.

The CABC welcomes this new partnership with Manulife, and we are confident this will yield much success and impact going forward.

The CABC and Manulife would like to invite you to join us at our first co-hosted event under this Sustainability Partnership, Opportunities in ESG and Sustainable Finance in ASEAN, which will be held virtually on May 11th from 9:00 – 11:00 am (GMT+8) / May 10th, 2022, 9:00 – 11:00 am (EST).

Best Regards,

Wayne Farmer
President, Canada-ASEAN Business Council
